CRINA COWL – Free crochet Pattern

Size: One size fits all

You will need:

Yarn: 4 – Medium – Worsted

  • Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn 100% acrylic – less than 100 g
  • You can choose your colors
  • Gauge  12 sc – 15 rows = 4″ (10 cm) with 5.5 mm, US – I/9
  • Hook – I/9 – 5.50 mm
  • Scissors & yarn needle to weave in ends

US terminology

      Stitches you will need to know & abbreviation

  • ch – Chain
  • st – Stitch
  • sk – Skip
  • sc- Single Crochet
  • Sl St- Slip Stitch
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Treble Crochet – tr
  • Cluster (cl) : Holding back last Ip of each st on hook, 3 dc in specified stitch, yo, pull through all Ips on hook.

Let’s get started

You can easily adjust the size by making a longer or shorter starting chain.

Chain multiple of 6

Ch 108 , sl st to first ch to join, being careful not to twist.

Round 1: ch 3, sc in 5th ch from hook and in next ch,*ch 4, sk next 4 chs, sc in each of next 2 chs* across, ch 2, sk last 2chs, sl st in 3rd ch of starting ch.

Round 2: ch 3, *3 dc cl, ch 3, 3 dc cl, ch 1* in next ch 4 sp and in each ch 4 sp across to last ch 2 space  (3 dc cl, ch 3, 3 dc cl, ch 1) into the last ch 2 space, sl st in 3rd starting ch.

Round 3: ch 5, 2 sc in next ch3 sp *ch 4, 2 sc in next ch3 sp* across, ch 2, sl st in 3rd starting ch

Round 4: ch 5 *3 dc cl, ch 3, 3 dc cl, ch 1* in first ch space and in each ch4 sp across to last ch sp, dc in last ch sp, ch 1, sl st in 3rd starting ch, turn

Round 5: ch 3. dc in next dc, ch 4, *1 tr in next ch 3 sp, ch 4*across to last ch sp (1 tr in next ch3 sp), ch 1, sl st in first dc, turn

Round 6: ch 3, *3 dc cl, ch 3, 3 dc cl, ch 1*  in each ch 4 sp across, sl st in 3rd starting ch

Rep rounds 3-6 consecutively for pattern to desired length. Fasten off.
